The Implementation Project Manager is responsible for managing and leading projects and will provide support to others in their area of expertise. Successfully managing projects requires excellent organization, documentation, communication skills as well as the ability to help design innovative solutions when faced with complex issues. To effectively lead a project, the Project Manager requires the ability to align with all relevant stakeholders both internally and externally. Further, the Project Manager:
Has a working knowledge and experience in Project Management (within Logistics/Supply Chain is a plus)
Will continue to build knowledge of organization processes and customers
Will perform a range of assignments related to job discipline
Will use prescribed guidelines or policies in analyzing situations
Is proactive and independent, able to deliver with minimal supervision
Responsibilities:
Manage 1 to 3 projects within a project-based delivery model
Understands key business drivers and uses this knowledge to accomplish project work
Maintain all project related documentation, including project plans, process flows/VSM’s, risk/issue logs, resource requirements and business cases
Manage project scope and effectively manage scope change requests via change control process
Deliver projects on time and in budget with quality solutions. Coordinate across internal groups to ensure timelines and bandwidth needs are effectively communicated
Communicate project progress and facilitate project-related meetings to meet deliverables; Escalate quickly as necessary
Lead change management with all stakeholders – internal and external; Lead without authority and be confident and assertive with a willingness to challenge appropriately
Serve as the single point of contact and be accountable for all project related activities & requests
Anticipates internal and external challenges and develops risk management approach
Track and report project financials (budgeted vs actual) for allocated resource hours and billings
Contribute toward development of tools, methodologies, and presentations for TMC Implementation
Successfully execute the TMC Process Transformation Methodology, including:
Document customer expectations for TMC
Capture the current processes of the customer
Document & contribute to the design of Future State
Support creation of customer process maps
Document changes in roles and responsibilities
Identify opportunities for process improvement to increase productivity for all constituents (customer, carrier, supplier, customer’s clients, and TMC)
Other duties as assigned
Qualification:
Experience
4-6 years technical project management experience
Six Sigma, Lean, TQM or process improvement experience a plus
Supply Chain, Logistics, and/or Transportation experience preferred
Bachelor’s Degree Required
Project Management Professional certification preferred but not required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong communication skills: strong listener with exceptional facilitation skills and the ability to tell the story and connect to your audience
Project management experience, with the proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Project Management Professional certification preferred but not required
Communicates complex ideas, anticipates potential objections and persuades others, often at senior levels, to adopt a different point of view
Ability to organize, design, develop and deliver projects for internal and external audiences at all levels
Ability to collaborate effectively with subject matter experts internally and externally at all levels
Experience working and thriving in a continuous improvement environment
Experience and comfort in dealing with ambiguity and able to deliver with minimal oversight
Experience working directly with customers
Flexible hours (some weekend/late hours may be required)
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Visio, & PowerPoint
Up to 20% travel may be required (domestic and/or international)
