The Senior Learning & Development (L&D) Consultant will design, develop and deliver learning solutions that will provide our employees with the tools they need to excel now and in the future while building confidence and capabilities across job families. You will achieve success in this role by partnering with members of the corporate L&D team and Chicago Central leadership to ensure that courses and programs continue to deliver organizational impact in alignment with the overall business strategy.  The ideal candidate has a strong ability to think strategically as well as implement and execute tactical learning solutions while effectively influencing and consulting with a wide variety of stakeholders and levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Consult with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to assess employee and Chicago Central needs.

  • Apply the ADDIE process to ensure effective use of learning principles, techniques and practices. 

  • Implement innovative internal or external learning solutions that align with business processes and systems, engage employees and positively impact business performance.

  • Establishes creditability by leveraging relationships across the organization to troubleshoot and provide resolutions. 

  • Effectively manages project plans through setting expectations, communications and implementation steps. 

  • Measure and maintain effectiveness of development programs.

  • Maintains regular communication with corporate L&D team to ensure line of sight to new and existing programs, leverage best practices and maximize resources.  

  • Acts as a resource to managers and employees on their career development process.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Four years learning and development experience

  • Ability to think strategically and deliver content in a pragmatic and effective way

  • Proven ability to consult with and influence a variety of stakeholders, functions and levels of the organization

  • Proven project management and process development skills

  • Must be collaborative, positive and influential team contributor

  • Ability to provide leadership, consulting, influence and impact skills to support business decisions

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment, able to adapt to last minute requests, as well as changing and competing priorities

  • Ability to travel up to 5%
