As an Enterprise Product Manager at CH Robinson, you will use your passion for technology and experience translating internal and external customer requirements into solutions that deliver a quality customer experience at scale.

C.H. Robinson is looking for a Product Managerto own the shipper facility scoring productthat powers our Surface Transportation logistics business. This score serves as an input to scaling our marketplace pricing, matching, operational execution, and shipper continuous improvement insights. The right candidate will be a systems thinker who obsesses over delivering the best experience for our customers in the context of our business strategies. As a product manager, you will work cross functionally to ensure alignment to customer and business goals and work backwards from those goals to solve problems.

Solutions and decisions will be shaped by curiosity and rigorous analysis and research – both qualitative and quantitative.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct sophisticated quantitative, qualitative, business, customer, and strategic research and analysis to identify, test/validate, develop, and implement a shipper scoring mechanism

  • Synthesize data and insights into clear recommendations/proposals to inform strategic and tactical priorities to a wide range of audiences including executive leadership

  • Write logical, data and fact-based documents to gain alignment from cross functional stakeholders to inform technology and process change investments/priorities

  • Effectively debate and defend fact-based proposals that may be unpopular or challenge conventional wisdom

  • Define requirements, metrics analysis and partner with engineering counterparts on development, testing, and launching efforts

  • Minimize wasted technology investment by testing/validating hypotheses behind proposed investments; partner with technology teams to iteratively test/validate hypotheses and build complete solutions for ideas/proposals that have been validated

  • Work cross-functionally with internal and external teams including software development engineers, commercial managers, finance, leadership, and customers to implement features for global roll-out across customer segments

  • Work with customer and carrier facing product managers to optimize marketplace specific product features which could benefit from shipper scoring

  • Identify and manage program blocking issues, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical or operational constraints

  • Drive effective teamwork, collaboration and alignment across teams that have very different worldviews and perspectives

  • Navigate an ambiguous environment, from a strategic and tactical perspective, where the product management function is still maturing

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience (in product or engineering/data science role) in digital customer experience connecting customer behaviors to marketplace dynamics

  • Demonstrated experience around level of digitization/data quality required to power positive marketplace growth outcomes

  • 5+ years of product management (or closely related) experience conducting strategic quantitative and/or qualitative analysis to inform technology/operations investments/changes in a cross-functional enterprise environment in natively digital e-commerce or marketplace companies

  • Experience managing day-to-day project/program communications to a broad stakeholder group and contributing to senior executive management reports and business presentations

  • Experience in at least one of the following areas in addition to product management: strategic management consulting, financial analysis, technology, data science or P&L management

  • Experience writing both long- and short- term product planning reports, including strategic market analysis, product proposals, and financial/business reporting

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and high school diploma/GED

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Multiple years of digital marketplace dynamics/mechanics experience in product or data science capacity

  • Master’s degree Business Administration/Management, Finance, Economics, Marketing,

  • Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering, Analytics/Data Science

  • Results driven with an understanding of how to evaluate, deliver, and validate business value

  • Executive level written and verbal communication skills with the ability to assess audiences and adjust content, style, and approach to meet their needs

  • Ability to weigh competing priorities, manage tradeoffs and evaluate new ideas and opportunities with stakeholders, driving to alignment while maintaining a clear focus on overarching business priorities
