C.H. Robinson is looking for a dynamic Manager Software Engineering to lead a team of Software Engineers working on global projects for our internal logistics platform, Navisphere Online 2.0.

In this role, you will manage a team of 7 engineers at various levels of seniority, creating new features and modifying existing ones. You will develop strategies with product owners and other leaders based in the US, collaborate with technical leaders to move projects into production and align technical and business priorities into a unified plan. You'll set timelines, ensure accountability, and resolve issues with urgency.

The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop strategies with product and business owners, aligning the team with goals

  • Collaborate with cross-functional technical leaders to advance projects from discovery to production

  • Partner with stakeholders to create and achieve a vision for our capabilities

  • Integrate technical and business priorities into a unified plan, manage dependencies, and report progress

  • Enforce the code review process and ensure quarterly commitments are met, resolving bugs within SLAs

  • Address production issues urgently and manage escalated issues

Team Leadership

  • Lead and manage a distributed team of 7 Software Engineers

  • Drive team accountability, set timelines, and meet project deadlines

  • Assess performance, provide coaching, and implement improvement plans

  • Evaluate and fulfill talent needs through development or hiring

  • Maintain effective communication with regular meetings

  • Align team goals with business and tech enterprise goals, promoting career development

  • Allocate rewards and recognition based on performance and commitment

  • Foster continuous learning, accountability, innovation, and strive for engineering excellence


  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a technology role such as software engineer, business analyst, product manager, or technology project manager

  • Minimum 2 years of experience leading a team

  • Experience delivering business critical software functionality

  • Experience delivering software in an Agile environment

  • Hands-on experience with technologies spanning front-end interfaces to back-end systems, preferably including C#, .NET, JavaScript, React, SQL Server, MongoDB, Kafka, and ELC

  • Proficient in software engineering concepts: relational databases, asynchronous data movement, OOP, CI/CD practices, and distributed systems

  • Strategic planning, business acumen, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

  • Creative in solving technology problems and effective in managing high-priority demands/projects

  • Strong communication skills to articulate complex solutions and project timelines clearly

  • Excellent interpersonal skills: building trust, influencing, and fostering relationships with diverse team members

  • Experienced in consulting, influencing without authority, negotiating, resolving conflict, and escalating when necessary

  • Ability to lead, motivate, and inspire teams, connecting team efforts to strategic business priorities

  • Comfortable leading through change, resolving conflict, and promoting a growth mindset
