Responsibilities

Software Engineer II – Shared Billing Services

As a Software Engineer on C.H. Robinson’s Shared Billing Services team, you will use your passion for technology and experience delivering complex software solutions to support a critical component of our business – money exchange.

In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating requirements, estimating tasks, managing risks, and writing code that meets performance, quality, security, and business objectives.

You will collaborate with other software engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to solve complex problems, improve our software development processes and standards, and keep up with emerging technologies.

You’ll work closely with the agile team located in Eden Prairie, MN to make technology decisions. 

We are looking for someone excited about using the newest cloud tools and technology to build highly scalable, stable, and accurate products. The solutions you build will be responsible for processing every document sent by our vast network of Carriers! 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop software and design solutions that satisfy customer requirements, with a focus on performance and availability

  • Collaborate with product managers and other software engineers to translate requirements into detailed designs

  • Estimate software development effort, including identifying dependent teams and developing code to satisfy complex requirements

  • Increase code quality through participating in code reviews, and writing unit, integration, and acceptance tests

  • Use security focused programming patterns write new code, and find, fix, and enhance security in existing applications

  • Tune performance and resolve availability issues of products or services and their dependencies

  • Collaborate with other software engineers and teams on code reviews, development infrastructure, and process enhancements

  • Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience creating applications and features in C#/.NET

  • Experience with HTTP and REST architecture

  • Experience with database objects in relational databases (e.g. MS SQL, Oracle)

  • Proficient with unit, integration, and acceptance testing

  • Proficient with version control systems (e.g. GIT, GITHub, etc.)

  • Self-driven, with a proven ability to deliver results working independently and as a part of a team

  • Proactive, solution-focused attitude with a passion for continuous improvement

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, GCP)

  • Experience with data streaming and messaging frameworks and architecture (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Service Bus)

  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, creative, dynamic workplace
