The Freight Pay Analyst is responsible for answering all carrier freight pay related questions including client invoicing, adjustments and credits. The Freight Pay Analyst requires excellent time management, problem solving, analytical, and customer service skills.

The Freight Pay Analyst works closely with client and carrier contacts to ensure timely and accurate payment and will be expected to identify and implement process efficiencies to improve overall strategic initiatives. A background in transportation, accounting or finance is preferred. Good working knowledge of Excel is required, Access and Crystal Seagate is a plus.


  • Identify and troubleshoot invoicing errors and discrepancies

  • Analyzing current accounts payables and receivables to identify payment discrepancies

  • Provide prompt and professional response to customer and/or carrier requests for additional information

  • Work with operational team to train on standard freight pay procedures

  • Identify operational efficiency gains in customer supply chain (suppliers, carriers, and dealers)

  • Facilitate weekly calls with customer/ carrier regarding open issues

  • Reconcile invoicing using current customer and carrier contracts

  • Maintain weekly fuel surcharge schedule

  • Maintain monthly/daily reporting routines and metric deadlines

  • Run and monitor weekly internal/external aging to keep current

  • Ensure freight pay and billing processes comply with Compliance guidelines

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Accounting, Finance, Economics or Supply Chain focus preferred

  • A minimum of 1 year of Freight Payment or related experience preferred

  • AP/AR experience desired

  • Transportation, Logistics, and/or Supply Chain knowledge preferred

  • Ability to think critically and solve problems quickly and accurately

  • Ability to work in a team oriented, fast-paced and dynamic environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Customer-centric approach

  • Self-starter, innovator, positive team player with ability to work with little or no supervision

  • Capable of producing quality work within tight timeframes

  • Comfort level with quantitative work, formulas and modeling of revenue streams

  • Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel experience preferred

  • Information systems aptitude (TMS, ERP preferred)
