C.H. Robinson is seeking an Associate Category Specialist to join our Robinson Fresh division. This entry-level opportunity is designed to be your gateway into the dynamic world of supply chains. As a valuable member of the category team, you'll dive into the industry, gaining expertise in the intricacies of supply chains for various fruits or vegetables. Your everyday tasks will include collaborating with growers and suppliers to support the supply chain for a diverse portfolio of customers. Location: Preferred location is Eden Prairie, MN. We are also open to candidates based in Sunrise, FL, or Nogales, AZ.

Training: New hires are expected to be on-site 5 days a week for the first 2-4 weeks of training.

Hybrid Model: After onboarding, our current hybrid work model allows for 3 days per week in the office and 2 days per week remote. Please be aware that this model is flexible and may evolve over time.

Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Collaborate with category team members, actively sharing commodity and market information with the commercial team 

  • Engage with suppliers to grasp insights into quality, yields, pricing, and production 

  • Cultivate and enhance grower and supplier relationships, providing continuous support for performance improvement using data 

  • Assist customers by thoroughly comprehending product specifications and order trends 

  • Collaborate with the category team to ensure optimal alignment of supply chain with customers, effectively communicating packing instructions to suppliers 

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED 

  • Ability to travel up to 5% (domestically and internationally) 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university 

  • Agricultural or supply chain experience 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs 

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment 

  • Strong team player who thrives in a collaborative environment 

  • Excellent relationship building skills with customers, growers, and internal teams 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 

  • Great attitude, with a desire to contribute, learn, and grow professionally 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to make data-driven decisions 

  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment, sometimes out of normal business hours 

  • Attention to detail with high standards for work; a customer service mindset
