We’re C.H. Robinson, one of the world’s largest logistics platforms and we're looking for a Supply Chain Coordinator to join our Trade Management team in Melbourne.

The Trade Management team at C.H. Robinson has the primary responsibility to support a major retail client in their supply chain/logistics for specialty imported products into of Australia leveraging our global forwarding expertise.

The Supply Chain Coordinator will provide support across the import teams servicing the client.

A successful Supply Chain Coordinator will thrive in a lightning-fast environment, co-ordinate the purchase order, inventory management and shipping process of all orders for the client. You will manage external relationships with 3rd party stakeholders, such as warehouses & transport carriers.

Responsibilities:

Maintain Operational Excellence:

  • Understand the processes, documentation, and terminology involved in international shipping from time of purchase order issuance through the delivery of the cargo.

  • Maintain strong working relationships and communications with key suppliers to confirm production/shipping schedules and monitor open purchase orders for all orders to ensure on-time deliveries.

  • Proactively report product availability issues

  • Inventory Management: Support reporting, inventory parameters, Product Life Cycle management

  • Processes sales orders, maintain purchase order status and shipment tracking information.

  • Liaise with overseas suppliers, 3PL warehouses and Global Forwarding Agent

  • Manage external relationships with 3rd party stakeholders, such as warehouses & transport carriers and ongoing support to internal teams.

  • Produce ad- hoc reporting on functions within the Supply Chain network

  • Maintain the in-stock position, ensuring the right stock is in the right place at the right time to support business initiatives

Facilitate Relationships:

  • Build great relationships with the customer, responding timely and following up on issue resolution

  • Communicate clearly, timely, and effectively with customers/agents, C.H.Robinson offices, and outside vendors

  • Promote a positive working relationship for all team members

  • Participate, as needed, in new customer implementations and business meetings

Other Activities:

  • Ensure customer SOPs are maintained and adhered to 

  • Work according to the organization, local and global laws, regulations, and procedures

  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned according to the team and/or country specific requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • High school diploma or Graduate degree or equivalent

  • Minimum 2-4 years logistics or supply chain experience / Purchasing/buyer experience in a retail/FMCG environment

Preferred:

  • Tertiary qualification in logistics or supply chain business discipline

  • Proven track record of dealing with customers and being client focused

  • High attention to detail, critical-thinking, flexibility, and problem-solving skills to adapt to ever-changing tasks and customer needs

  • Contribute to a culture with a focus on each individual taking responsibility for their role and working within a positive team environment
